Bridal Party of Five

Book by Lori Mannette

Lyrics by Lori Mannette and Joel Waggoner with additional lyrics by Tony Greenlaw

Music by Joel Waggoner and Tony Greenlaw with additional music by Jess Glover

BRIDAL PARTY OF FIVE was inspired by the British “7Up” documentary series which proposes that individual’s personalities are essentially developed by the age of 7. The show therefore follows 5 women at different stages of their lives (7, 14, 28, 35, 42) to analyze what it actually means to develop personality and sense of self. These women are forced to confront equity issues in the workforce as the women worked in unsuitable conditions within a factory and were exposed to mercury poisoning. When the women gather for a wedding, they must deal with their own issues of insecurity and feelings about marriage as they try to support one another and themselves.
