Alex Baker (Piano)

Alex Baker is a junior psychology major at UNC who has been involved with the Pauper Performance Troupe and played in the pit orchestras for Chicago and Mamma Mia. 

Leah Brooks (Louise)

Leah Brooks is a junior Political Science and Music double major who is thrilled to be a part of this show! Previous credits with UNC include Bright Star, Rocky Horror Picture Show, and Into the Woods, as well as co-music directing Bonnie & Clyde and Ghost Quartet. Leah also serves as Workshop Coordinator on UNC Pauper Players’ Executive Board. She would like to thank the production staff, her housemates, and her family and friends for supporting her in all that she does. “Enjoy the show!”

Josh Bryant (Lighting Designer and Technical Director)

Josh Bryant is a sophomore at UNC who is excited to take part in his first UNC Pauper Players production. He would like to thank his friends for encouraging him and the production staff for letting him be a part of this show.

Bobby Curtis (Herbie)

Bobby Curtis is a Freshman at UNC and is excited to be in his very first show with Pauper. He has previously participated in school and community theatre performing in shows such as Little Shop of Horrors (Seymour), The Addams Family (Gomez), and Newsies (Jack Kelly). He would like to thank his family for supporting him during every show.

Hannah Drury (Producer)

Hannah Drury is a sophomore at UNC majoring in psychology and she is excited to be apart of her second main-stage production with Pauper Players. She co-stage-managed Mamma Mia last spring and is thrilled to be a part of Gypsy as one of the producers! She would like to thank all the cast and production staff who has worked so hard to make this show a success.

Gian Gibboney (Music Director/Conductor)

Gian Gibboney is a sophomore at UNC, and he is so excited to be music directing Gypsy! He previously was in the ensemble of Bonnie & Clyde, played keyboard in the pit orchestra for Mamma Mia!, and performed in the Spring 2019 Pauper Performance Troupe! He would like to thank his family for always being so supportive, and his wonderful friends, whether or not they’re in the theatre community!

Gabby Hubert (Tessie Tura/Ensemble)

Gabby is a Public Policy and English major in her last year at Carolina. This is her fifth production at UNC, having performed in the ensemble of The Producers, Rocky Horror Picture Show, the Pauper Performance Troupe, and Bonnie & Clyde. She will also appear in UNC Opera’s production of Il Sogno di Scipione in November. She would like to thank the prod staff for all their hard work, as well as her friends and family for always showing up.

Campbell Kargo (Rose)

Campbell Kargo is a junior English major and Dramatic Arts minor at UNC. She is excited to take the stage as Rose in her second production with the UNC Pauper Players. She has previously appeared in Pauper Players’ Bonnie & Clyde as Blanche, as well as Company Carolina’s Bright Star as Mayor Dobbs, Pippin as Catherine, and The Wild Party as Nadine. She would like to thank her parents, of course, for inviting everyone that has ever met her to come see her in this show, her dog Sassy who definitely should’ve been cast as Chowsie but was robbed, and her dear friends who had to listen to her talk about how she was going to leave this earth if she wasn’t cast as Rose.

Hailey Korzekwinski (Dolores/Ensemble)

Hailey is a sophomore at UNC Chapel Hill. She has been in 25 shows over the years, and some of her favorite roles include Mary Poppins (Mary Poppins) and Catherine (A View from the Bridge).

Zoë Lord (Stage Manager)

Zoë is a sophomore at UNC majoring in Political Science and Public Policy and she is so excited to be involved in her second production with UNC Pauper Players. She was previously involved in Mamma Mia last semester as the costume designer. She would like to thank her parents, Caitlin, and of course Hannah Drury for answering every panicked phone call.

Sarah Moore

Sarah Moore is a senior political science and history major and is thrilled to be a part of UNC Pauper Players’ production of Gypsy! This is her fifth semester sacrificing her limited free time for the love of student theatre. She has most recently appeared in Ghost Quartet (Rose) and Bonnie & Clyde (Trish). She’d like to thank the production staff, cast, and crew for being a joy to make art with and for all the hard work to make this iconic musical come to life!

Marika O’Hara (Producer)

Marika O’Hara is a senior at UNC and this is her sixth (!) production with UNC Pauper Players. She previously music directed Cabaret, Growing Pains, and Bonnie & Clyde, produced Chicago and Into the Woods, and currently serves as Pauper’s Executive Director of Production. She would like to thank the cast for their hard work, the production staff for putting up with her, and her family for coming to see all of her shows (even though she’s never actually in them).

Alison Richard (Agnes/Ensemble)

Alison Richard is a freshman at UNC who is ecstatic to be in her first production with UNC Pauper Players. She has previously worked on multiple shows with her high school theatre company, UPStage, including The Little Mermaid (Ariel), Peter and the Starcatcher (Molly Aster), and Sister Act (Mother Superior). She would like to thank her supportive family and friends as well as the whole production staff for this incredible opportunity. 

Jackson Seymore (Uncle Jocko, Pops, Rich Man, Weber, Mr. Goldstone, Cigar, Phil)

Jackson Seymore is a senior finishing his B.S. in Chemistry with a Marine Science minor. You might know Jackson from other productions such as LAB! Theatre’s The Pillowman or Constellations, or even Kenan Theater Company’s Hedda Gabbler or Company Carolina’s A View from the Bridge. Jackson is also a rescue diver from New Bern, NC and a researcher in atmospheric chemistry currently working on the IMPACT project, studying particle toxicity of complex aerosols and gas mixtures. He thinks he’s cool, but I’ll give you his insta handle so you can decide that for yourself: @jackson_seymore Catch him later this month as Leroy in LAB! Theatre’s A Bright New Boise.

Kolby Schwamberger (Mazeppa/Ensemble)

Kolby is a first year in her first production at UNC. She is excited to put on her first show with Pauper Players and wants to thank the entire cast and crew for such a welcoming and fun experience.

Grace Sword (Waitress/Ensemble)

Grace Sword is a sophomore at UNC who is so excited to be in her first musical with UNC Pauper Players. She appeared in Eurydice with Lab! Theater (Little Stone) last fall and recently performed in the Performance Troupe with Pauper last spring, and is continuing her journey with them by being Assistant Director this semester. She would like to thank the whole production staff and castmates for making this experience so much fun, and she would like to thank her Mom and sister for continuing to support her in her arts endeavors.

Josh Wahab (Yonkers/Ensemble)

Josh is a sophomore and insanely excited to be a part of his first show with UNC Pauper Players, as well as his first main stage show at UNC. He’d like to thank the cast and prod staff for this awesome opportunity to work with all of these amazing and talented people!

Julia Walia (Angie/Ensemble)

Julia is a sophomore at UNC studying Health Policy and Management. This is her first production with UNC Pauper Players, but she participated in theatre all throughout high school. She is so excited to work with everyone in the cast and crew!

Elizabeth Wheless (June)

Elizabeth is a sophomore from Manteo, NC. This is her second production with UNC Pauper Players and she’s so excited to be in her first Sondheim musical! She’s previously appeared as Bonnie (Bonnie & Clyde), Agnes (Agnes of God), Margo (Bright Star) and Regan (Cordelia). She’d like to thank Kayley and her parents for always supporting her, Campbell Kargo for being the best friend/stage mom she could ask for, and the production staff.

Madeline Yara (Marjorie May/Ensemble)

Madeline Yara is a sophomore at UNC who is excited to be ~performing~ in her first mainstage production with Pauper. She has previously been a part of the Pauper Performance Troupe in Fall 2018, played bass for Bonnie & Clyde and music directed Mamma Mia!. She’d like to thank all of the Gypsy production staff and Pauper Executive Board for this wonderful opportunity! 🙂
